Guggenheims Abu Dhabi
The Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum, due for completion in 2025, adds a rugged ambience to the Saadiyat Cultural District skyline. Staying true to the spirit of the Guggenheim (and conceived in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation), the building plan has a contemporary, unconventional yet uniquely beautiful design. Like the outside, like the inside. Inside he has 28 galleries spread over 11,600m², with a further 23,000m² of exhibition space on the characteristic cones and terraces attached to the building.
The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi presents a collection of modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on works from the West Asia, North Africa and South Asia (WANASA) region. The museum’s mission is to provide a platform for artists in the WANASA area, commissioning works from artists at the forefront of creative innovation, and exploring how “interconnected histories and cultures” shape our world. It is to introduce how it helped to do.
Speaking of projects, H.E. DCT Abu Dhabi Chairman Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak said: As we move forward, it is important to recognize the influence of this museum in realizing our vision for the emirate’s cultural and creative industries. ”
